How does it work?
Ebates has a relationship with over 1800 online stores. When you shop using Ebates, they get a fee. Then, they share that fee with you. Win-win! Back in the day, you would have to go to their site first and click on the store through their site. Today, they’ve made it super easy. Once you sign up, they’ll ask to install a Cash Back Button on your browser (see below). The Cash Back Button currently works with Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
If you want to learn more about how the fees work, google “affiliate marketing”.
What does it look like in action?
Simply click the “Activate _% Cash Back” button, and you’re good to go. Ebates takes care of all the tracking for you and makes sure you get paid.
How do you get paid?
Ebates pays you quarterly either by sending you a “Big Fat Check” to the mailing address you provide or via Paypal, your choice. You get paid as long as your balance is $5.01 or greater.
What else can Ebates do?
Ebates will even automatically search for coupons you can apply to your purchase to save you even more money. It’ll look like this, except more specific to the store you’re shopping at:
You can also see how much cash back you currently have by clicking on the Cash Back Button. It looks like this:
I don’t do much online shopping, but I do get Groupon and Livingsocial deals every once in a while. When I need parts for the cars, I might go to advanceautoparts.com. These sites all offer discounts periodically, but it won’t affect your ability to get Cash Back with Ebates.
Here’s an Ebates referral link if you decide to sign up! I’ll get a bonus if you sign up using any of my links, and you’ll get a $10 bonus after your first purchase of $25 using Ebates.
